the terracotta army
over the weekend, we decided to be a little more cultured and head to the art gallery of nsw to check out the first emperor exhibition - they brought in the terracotta warriors and it was always fascinating to actually see the real thing. i was actually quite surprised that there was quite a queue to purchase tickets to this exhibition; kids were given paper cut out armor to wear and i saw this random guy who's shoe had 3 flaps (yes, i found it pretty amusing and may have spoken a lil too loud about it); oh and at the membership counter, this asian girl had dyed her hair white with a tint of pink - i thought she was pretty but a little odd and then we saw an old lady with the same coloured hair; not quite the same o_O
back to the show... we did find out very interesting facts - that everything they dug up was actually hand painted in colour, there is still a ginormous huge part of the land that hasn't been excavated and the detail on every single items was so intricate you can only imagine how much time went into making these things. pity they didn't allow any camera's inside so i couldn't take anything :( i still think it'll be better to actually visit the original place in china where they were found.... one day... one fine day *fingers cross*
