it's a beautiful day for kayaking

on the way home the radio was playing "it's a beautiful day" and i thought it really was a beautiful day to go kayaking. though it never crossed my mind, it was an extremely gloomy day yesterday and today we woke up to the sun shining brightly. we bought vouchers for a 4 hour kayaking session; 6 people, 3 kayaks, 4 beaches and only managed 3 hours. we were all so hungry that we had good large meals at the bavarian bier cafe. we were sitting so close to their open kitchen i couldn't stop staring and hoping the next dish was for our table. it was a very tiring day and i swear tomorrow my arms and legs will fall off *grin*

the slower you go the more likely you'll crash

i haven't even blogged about a bigger toy (well it's not really a toy) we got last week and D already has a new one >_< we headed to manly today with alex & justin to have a look at scott bikes. one D has been eyeing since those 2 poisoned him into biking. well at least it's a healthy sport, danger is another thing....

at the shop, D test the suspension, took the bike out for a spin.... stopped, discussed it with the boys, took it for another ride, retested the suspension... on and on an on. even i had a go at it, obviously this bike was too big for me but i decided to take a ride anyway. that was phoooarrrrr ... either i'm getting old and overly paranoid that i would fall over or .... hmmm there's not other excuse really. and since i hadn't cycled in a long time, when i wanted to stand the bike, i was looking for a stand like the picture above which apparently no longer come on bikes!! hey, it's been a looooong time since i had a bicycle.

and yes, after all that D came home with a new bike. he was a little worried that it wouldn't fit into the boot and would end up having to buy a bike rack. it only fit if we took out both tyres. so now i'm on my own at home blogging while he's at the carpark with the boys playing with the bike -_-
