life explained...

on the first day, God created the dog and said: "sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. for this, i will give you a life span of twenty years"

the dog said: "that's a long time to be barking. how about only ten years and i'll give you back the other ten?"

so God agreed.

on the second day, God created the monkey and said: "Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. for this, i'll give you a twenty year life span."

the monkey said: "monkey tricks for twenty years? that's a pretty long time to perform. how about i give you back ten like the dog did?"

and God agreed.

on the third day, God created the cow and said: "you must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. for this i will give you a life span of sixty years"

the cow said: "that's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years.. how about twenty and i'll give you back the other forty?"

and God agreed again.

on the fourth day, God created humans and said: "Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. for this i will give you twenty years."

but the human said: "only twenty years? could you possibly give me twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eigthy, okay?"

"Okay," said God, "you asked for it"

so that is why for our first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. for the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family... for the next ten years we do monkey trickst to entertain the grandchildren and for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

life has now been explained to you!

Sydney Sales: Napoleon Perdis

SK got an update that NP was having a sale and we decided after lunch hour to drop by since it was 5 mins away from us.

it was pretty big showroom. it was filled with all sorts of products.... from make up cases, colour eye shadows, nail polish and other face stuff...

the middle section was where you get a little makeover....kinda. it gives you a chance to test out colours that might suit you.

and since i've been meaning to figure out how i look like in bright red lipstick....

i don't think i'm fair enough...aphrodithe red. NAaaaaH... *shakes head* not quite the colour for me..

in the end... i came home with a lipstick set, mascara and eye shadow. i could have come home with more.... but control....

if you like make up it's definitely worth checking out. I'm sure u'll walk home with something.

we may be free to choose our actions but we cannot choose the consquences of our actions

ever played a game which got you sooo involved that you feel for the character? Young JW brought home "Heavy Rain", developed by Quantic Dream which he started playing immediately and got both me & D hooked onto the storyline. A game that has 20+ different endings based on your actions and decisions throughout the game tells you how much games has evolved these days. whatever choices you make in the game can have significant and unforseen consequences.

before i realised the game was called Heavy Rain, i wondered why it was raining heavily in most scenes. And when i asked it aloud, D replied "Heavy Rain mah"... i didn't get it, not funny also his response; but he kept repeating the same answer everytime i asked, and then i saw the cover of the game the next day. *smacks head*

the beginning of this games starts of really slow, but after 2 hours you'll get so engrossed in the story you'll not want to put the controller down, not even to pee! when you start caring about the character and are faced with difficult decision, that's when it gets damn "chi kik"! you have decisions roaming around your head to pick from and depending on your characters emotions (nervous, calm, anxious...etc) it can become fuzzy, shaky or just spin all over the place.

the game is a murder mystery where young boys are kidnapped and between 3 -5 days later they are found dead. The killer dubbed "The Origami Killer" leaves paper origami (really cute ones i might add) in the hands of his victims and a single orchid on their chest. i won't give away the whole for those who intend to play, of course. then again, even i don't know the whole story yet. you play 4 different characters, each with completely different background and motivations and race against time to find the killer.

the controls are a little unusual using R2 to walk and the left stick to turn your head. i kept using the right stick to walk. -_- and turning the wrong directions. i guess you eventually get use to it. the one problem you might have?? you're so busy watching what's happening you forget to press the buttons!

this game definitely draws you into its world. i can't say that this is a great review considering it wasn't me who played the whole game. it was D while i sat and watched and felt like i was the character being played. there were random moments where D left me the controller while he needed to rush to the toilet. i do recommend gamers to try it or even if you don't game, watch it being played coz you'll definitely get suckered into the whole game. oh... and play it right, you get nudity in certain scenes :D

you can tell someone wants ribs when...

he keeps telling there's leftover ribs in the fridge....right after dinner, 10 minutes later... 15 minutes later...

friends come over to chill.... reminds you again there is ribs in the fridge after they leave, asks his bro whether he knows there's ribs in the fridge and then reheats it and eats it before bed

Disney-fied fashion designers for Elle Spain

this is such a cool illustration of fashion designer done Disney style! Ulrich Schröder has an unusual talent with Disney characters.

the big bad wolf as Karl Lagerfield

Daisy Duck as Donatella Versace

Donald Duck as Marc Jacobs

Goofy & Mickey Mouse as Dolce & Gabana

Donald Duck as John Galliano

Donald Duck again as Jean Paul Gaultier

Does anyone else know the names of the other disney characters used? Does Sonia Rykiel look like it's Donald Duck?? hahaha

it's finally done and i can have my weekends back!!

no more paint spots all over the place, including on me!! for some funny reason, i always get heaps of paint onto myself. DIY-ing just brings out the klutz in me >.<

if you think this is bad, wait till you see this!

hahaha damn bad shapes right??

we started painting the new place the week we got our keys. the walls were dirty and the colour was dull so we decided to liven up the place by painting a fresh coat (which actually does wonders) and adding feature walls to different rooms. semangats?? of course man.. it's our first place!

we painted the feature wall in the bedroom blue...

the living room dark grey which makes the red stands our amazingly

and the rest of the house a very light whitish sandy brown white. confused much??

all our paints were Dulux except for the base... which i can't remember now.

now that it's all over, NEVER AGAIN!! the next time we wanna paint the whole place we are hiring people to do it. i reckon we would still keep the feature wall for ourselves to paint and amuse ourselves. :)

so here's a tip : "don't be too over ambitious with you DIY projects or you'll eventually get sick of it and leave it hanging" o_O

craving, not having, is the mother of a reckless giving to oneself

i'm been craving for a new pair of shoes... it's autumn sale right now so most stores are on sale. during lunch me and SK saw a pair of militay boots that were sooooo cool! not really my style but with cravings, i was up to try anything new. unfortunately, they didn't have my size :( ...you know that feeling when you can't get it, you want it even more? since it was late night shopping.... so i headed to a diferent branch, took me a while to find it but i did. no size but decided to try it anyway and realised that it made me looks shorts, it bends at weird places coz it was a soft material.. and after all that, i didn't like it.

and then i walked to Novo. They were having the a 50% off 2nd pair sale! the signs are quite deceiving coz from a distance it just looked like 50% sale! so i came home with these....

eyelet ankle boots

gladiators

muahahaha!! iiii have new shoesssss.... *skips away happily*

tonight's menu for dinner is tuna mayo, egg mayo, potatoes & corn. i was mixing the mayo in with the tuna and onions when suddenly i decide to check the expiry date...why?? i dunno. low and behold it was expired!! there goes my 1st batch of tuna mayo...what a waste :( thank goodness i had an extra bottle.

wasted tuna mayo in the bin

*note to self...always check expiry dates for your sauces

sun, sea, abit of sand and alot of Gizmo

last Sunday's weather was awesome. the sun was shinning, but the air was cooling. i was very relunctant to wake up for brunch when we went to bed at 5 am but the appointment was set so we dragged ourselves out of bed. it took us longer than we expected to reach Bondi Beach. we were so use to driving from Kingsford and we forgot that it's further away now.

of course we were the last to arrive and then.... Gizmo was not allowed in. :( the poor boy had to sit outside while we ate. good thing we were sitting by the entrance so he could still just look up to us. i felt bad for the poor boy so after i ate, had light conversation, i decided to take him for a walk by the beach.

we ended up on a patch of grass where i could unleash him and he went mad. dashing right left and centre, confusing a poor kid who wanted to pet him. haihzz... the only thing i had missing was the D90. what to do? make do with my little Canon hand held lor..

i like aeroplane jelly, aeroplane jelly for me!

every now and then we make heaps of aeroplane jelly coz D loves it and we always end up buying heaps when they're on special. so today, after having the jelly packs in our pantry even before moving to our new place, we finally decide to make use of 6 packs out of the 13 packs we had.

now i never knew about aeroplane jelly till i got here. D on the other hand remembers the jingle from when he was a kid...

i like aeroplane jelly, aeroplane jelly for me
i like it for dinner, i like it for tea
a little each day is a good recipe!
the quality's high, as the name will imply
it's made from pure fruit - one more good reason why
i like aeroplane jelly, aeroplane jelly for me!

this is the 1956 ad the D remembered watching a long time ago....

it's really easy to make. each pack is mixed with 250ml of boiling water & 200ml of cold water and put it into the fridge for 4 hours and it's ready to eat. *yum* :D

we're gonna have plenty of dessert to last us more than a week....

my movie date

finally after hearing so much about it, D & I went on a movie date to catch Alice in Wonderland 3D.

can't say the story line was all that great, got a little confused at the beginning, couldn't understand what the mad hatter was saying (maybe that's what happens when you're so used the subtitles in Malaysian cinemas hehehe) but i would love to visit Wonderland. it's soooooooo beautiful. i've always loved fantasy lands. seeing some of the scenes gave me goosebumps coz it was so pretty and magical.

mia wasikowsa as alice kingsleigh

i also like the fact that whether alice shrunk or grew, her clothes changed along with her size unlike the hulk where who wore the same pants whether he was ginourmous or not, oh and very fashionably too i might add; alice that is. oh but did you realise how pale she actually is?

johnny depp as the mad hatter

there was one particular phrase that i thought was pretty good. it was when they asked "am i bonkers?" the answer would always be "you are mad, bonkers, off your head! but i'll tell you a secret, all the best people are" which i reckon is pretty true. don't you realise it is the craziest people that come out with the most amazing ideas?

anne hathaway as the white queen

helena bonham carter as the red queen

now the queens (Mirana & Iracebeth) - the white queen's role was smaller than i expected. actually i don't really remember if there was a white queen in the original cartoon. hmm?? did you notice how her hands were up in the air all the time? even when she was standing still?? hahaha i thought it was pretty funny. her character was pretty funny hehe and her dark lips scary. remember to pay attention to the potion she makes for alice!

the red queen likes her furniture to be held up by animals. i was actually wondering what was fluttering above the chandelier then i realised it was some animal with wings, bats...birds or something. pigs and monkeys played legs to chairs and tables.... cute.

the cheshire cat - i like him alot, he dissapears and reappears randomly. you can never tell who's side he's on.

the forever kan cheong white rabbit

the dormouse

absolem the caterpillar who keeps asking "who are you?" and calling alice "you stupid girl" in the most gentle tone

the march hare - this one is confirmed bonkers, extremely paranoid, figgety and nervous

the dodo with  tweedledum & tweedledee

the bandersnatch

this is definitely a movie you must watch in 3D or you'll completely lose that magical feeling and you might feel you have wasted you money watching this in the cinema.
