a great catch up

tapas... missing the wine coz we were all driving. it was so great to catch up with the girls i use to work with. you forget how much fun you have with each other until you meet up again. it's steph's birthday this sunday and sadly all i could give her was a hug and a 'iou' since i hadn't had time to get her a present. we have to meet up a little more often..... not once a blue moon. >_< oh and i would like to add the chocolate empanadas are absolutely delish!

sydney winter festival

we may not have picked the best day to go for the sydney winter festival but we did end up having fun. it was wet, cold and the rain didn't want to stop. everyone was running late, the big giant slide was close, the ice skating ring looked like a swimming pool and it was still raining. we had booked to skate at 8pm but didn't make it in time, luckily enough the next session wasn't full and we got into that slot. and at 9pm.... the rain stopped! we got to skate without getting drenched - one fell, one or two never let go of the sides, one being cacat with her twisted ankle had to stop before the session ended, some were hoping the girls in the short skirts would fall and many were just trying to balance and hey... i just realised alex is missing from the group shot -_- i wonder where he went?

1.1.11 - bondi beach

on a hot summer's new year's day, what better way to spend it burning and freezing at bondi beach. no bondi was not first choice since we're not the biggest fans of the crowd but our friend's had guests over and they were doing the touristy thing. we did get lucky and found parking within 5 minutes. had delicious fish & chips (over ate as usual) and the oh so famous deep fried chocolate mars bar.  it took me forever to get into the water even with D trying to pull me in. it's sooo freaking cold i don't know how people do it. by the time i got in and out, i couldn't feel my legs but the sun felt marvelous and please don't ask me what's that funny looking mini blow up doll with penis lying in the sand.

last Sunday's weather was awesome. the sun was shinning, but the air was cooling. i was very relunctant to wake up for brunch when we went to bed at 5 am but the appointment was set so we dragged ourselves out of bed. it took us longer than we expected to reach Bondi Beach. we were so use to driving from Kingsford and we forgot that it's further away now.





of course we were the last to arrive and then.... Gizmo was not allowed in. :( the poor boy had to sit outside while we ate. good thing we were sitting by the entrance so he could still just look up to us. i felt bad for the poor boy so after i ate, had light conversation, i decided to take him for a walk by the beach.



we ended up on a patch of grass where i could unleash him and he went mad. dashing right left and centre, confusing a poor kid who wanted to pet him. haihzz... the only thing i had missing was the D90. what to do? make do with my little Canon hand held lor..
