the very unexpected surprise

i'm not very good at surprises; obviously this hasn't changed. so this year for my other half, i didn't do much planning until the very last minute... coz i do feel bad for not planning anything. all i told him was, we're having dinner the weekend after your birthday with some friends. there.. i've organised something. but what's the fun when there's not surprise? i decided to come home with a birthday banner, add some balloons, cook him something different for dinner and pretended i felt bad for not organising anything at all. prior to that i also ended up giving him a small surprise birthday present a day early (again) -_- but that's not the end of it...i had everyone come over to surprise him with a small cake session and boy was he surprised! hahaha actually it's only because i got lucky this birthday - he fell asleep on the couch which gave everyone a chance to sneak in and scream at him 'happy birthday!!!#$%#^#@#!' .. yes scream. it was a good thing no one was too close to him or it would be the first time someone got hurt during a birthday.

and just like always, at the end of the night, we're all hooked onto some new game someone has introduced us too and the worst bit? we're playing on our phones/ipads with the same people in to room o_O thanks everyone for coming though it wasn't really well planned and i'm sure you all enjoyed seeing D's very SHOCKED face.

two surprises and a turkey

i turned a year older, got two surprises from the same bunch of people and had a giant turkey dinner. what more could i ask for? all i had plan was a buffet dinner at the star (previously known as starcity) and some gambling; hoping the birthday luck would rub off on my friends. unfortunately it didn't quite turn out that way -_- i did however get 2 birthday cakes (my blackforrest cake i had requested for), a thomas sabo charm, a customised coke can with my name on it... specially made coke birthday card just for me and the best of it all.... the chanel earrings i was eyeing for a while now and they topped it off with a matching pendant! i have an awesome husband and fabulous friends.. *feeling the love* oh and the turkey was super huge and very well cooked. it was such an amazing weekend.

a very princess party

a giant princess colouring book, a princess artbox filled with crayons, paints, colour pencils and much much more, a pink sleeping beauty costume and pretty pink butterflies wrapping paper. everything to complete a princess/fairies birthday party for a 5 year old. its so fun shopping for a girly girl. i would have bought so much more but i had to allow other people to buy stuff for her too >_< and we have planned a little surprise for her with special guest appearance from our very own wiggles! can't wait to see our boys dressed up. hahahaha

my poor birthday boy is sick on his birthday. poor thing, it must suck :(  it's probably from the jet lag and the fact that we had such a busy weekend - wedding the whole of saturday (post coming soon), the exciting of fast cars on sunday plus his birthday dinner. last night we headed to the spanish restaurant encasa for dinner since we had some friends from overseas here to attend the wedding. i never really know what to expect when trying a new restaurant but i have to say ... the ambiance is pretty good. it was completely packed but thank goodness they were nice enough to move us to a bigger table when that booking didn't arrive. we ordered different types of tapas, seafood paella and of course sangria. next stop, passion flower for old times sake where i pretty much od-ed on 3 types of dessert. tired D very loudly ask "who's birthday is it?" when little surprise candle on a little cake was for brought out for him. poor confused boy >_<

the early birthday dinner...

happy birthday sayang! and yes... every year you will always be two year younger than me. but i stopped counting since twenty five, so technically we're the same age; both twenty five no matter how many candles there are on the cake. *grin* since we play badminton on tuesdays, we celebrated his birthday the sunday before. dinner at pothong thai in newtown. apart from having difficulty find parking in the area, we had pretty good food. they had set up a little balloon arrangement on the table and added fruits & fire sparkles to the birthday cake and even had a small team of waiters sing him happy birthday. they also took pictures for us which they would email to the birthday boy. not bad.... with no extra charge they had really good service. it's just the starting of celebrations!

surplise!?? not quite

note to self: do not buy birthday presents in advance because you will just end up giving it to them early. i'm the sort of person who loves watching the happy faces of the people i buy presents for. of course that's usually only the case only if i get it right. i had D's present ordered a week in advance, wrapped and hidden on the day he flew home and could only wait 2 days before i told him "i've got your birthday present!" -_- which led on to guessing, hints and the very fast finding of it. clearly i'm not very good at surprises. it's his birthday tomorrow and his present is all nicely installed. fail!

checks & dots

happy birthday leanne!! apart from that crazy saturday night you had, i hope you're enjoying your delicious lobster today.







the theme was to wear checks or polka dots (can you tell???) and since D doesn't have either one, we went hunting for one and found a really nice shirt. semangats? it's really the only time to convince him to shop for clothes. men.....







we headed to a place called monkey magic. we did hear decent reviews about it but i think coz we were such a big group, it didn't seem to turn out that great. and for $45? we were still hungry at the end of the night. i have to say kudos to anne for the awesome cake (the alexis type tiramisu cake which i miss). when they brought out the cake, we sung ever so loudly, the poor birthday girl was red in the face. hahaha but we obviously had to announce it to the world right??

after dinner? we had to get the birthday girl drunk so we were off to mr.b's where she pretty much never left the bar. in fact, i hardly saw her...  :D very interesting pics on FB that night... heheheh

happy birthday G

G is 2 today .. and the lucky fella got a nice piece of juicy steak (and some lettuce) for his birthday. silly boy kept eyeing the steak while i was trying to take a picture with him. i can't believe i've had him for only 2 years!! it feels like he's so apart of our lives that he's been with us forever... ok maybe that's a bit over exaggerated but...seriously it does feel like it's been a long time. well, he's gonna be with us a long long time.
