all bright and colourful

it's another day, another shoot, another studio. it's always nice to be shooting for spring summer... the outfits are bright, vibrant and colourful. my models was awesome - one works as a paramedic on the side, another has her own online clothing business and the other is so healthy that she brings her own veggie box of snacks and apparently hasn't drank a soft drink in many years. the studio was pretty cool with random stuff hanging around the plae... there was this table which i took no notice of until i saw the joystick, looked over and saw space invaders! talk about old school.

and just like every shoot my feet were so sore by the end of the day, it pretty much killed it playing badminton later that night. i also left a really nice mark on my knee by smacking it with my racket. so hero.....

work is only as fun as the people you work with....

i had such an awesome time on my shoot and it's only because of these gorgeous ladies i got the chance to work with. it's always more fun when they are bubbly, happy and know how to joke around but obviously do what we need to do. it was such a long day - at the studio before 8am, heaps of outfit changes, fan off, fan on, pose pose pose pose... and then props. it was a super long day and these people just made the day pass by. i could tell that everyone was pretty exhausted by the end of the day but they all still managed a small. ali, sandra, thais, rani k (hair & make up) and daniel hill (our photographer), can't wait for our next shoot and this time i'll remember to bring plenty of lollies and candy to keep our sugar levels up!

lost in the morning

last flight in the night before and an early morning shoot the next day. don't know if it was a good thing or bad - good i didn't have to think to much at work except for styling; bad i was damn tired and had to be at the studio early. my day started with me dragging my ass out of bed and arriving at the wrong studio -_- i assumed that since it's in the same location, it was the same studio..... boy was i wrong. thank goodness it was only 5 minutes away from the other one. today we were shooting the mother's day tvc and i was very happy we finished early. funnily enough i got home only to end up cleaning house.

lights, camera....action

on the set of our tv shoot. ten outfits, three models... a mess of shoes and yet we couldn't match certain outfits with them o_O it was also the first day for our new marketing manager, how exciting huh? what an interesting way to start working in a new company. sick G was lucky enough to be able to follow me along for the shoot. the silly boy... so clingy when he's sick, as soon as i walked away from him, he started whining. good thing we weren't shooting sound.

behind the scenes

no longer the young hot models like we used for the ex-company but i have to admit, these ladies are older, mature, experienced and still gorgeous. it was a two day shoot for the winter catalogue, first day outdoor lifestyle shots and the second, studio. having to shoot winter outfits in 42 degree weather is an absolute nightmare and i truly felt terrible for our lovely models. imagine.... hot, humid, scorching sun occasionally wearing long pants, fleecy knit jackets and in a couple of layers. super hot can die!

the first day started at 8:00 in the am and because i stayed an hour's away from the first location i was out of the house by 7 only to be caught in horrendous traffic because the gps took me through the no toll route so i only got there at 9. i felt terrible coz i had all the outfits with me. of course since i was running so late, i didn't get a chance to whip out my camera to take any shots. lucky me, since there were 5 models, they weren't ready by the time i got there. oh it was such a long day.... running all over the place, trying to be as organised as possible and maneuvering people in the right locations. by the end of the day, even though i was wearing shorts and a singlet, i was drenched and my feet were killling me. then it was a long drive home during peak hour o_O

day 2.... started at 8 as well but because it was closer to home i didn't have to wake up as early. the day was still hot and the studio didn't have any aircond ... eeekkk! after i think about 100 outfits shots, it was a wrap. the most annoying bit of the day was moving the car after every hour or two. the area we were at just didn't have parking. oh and seeing such colourful wraps was a bit odd too. when i got home, my feet were so dead it wasn't funny; i poked my toe and couldn't feel a thing! ohhhh it's such a good thing the weekend is here.
